Community says farewell to Stroud
If it were not for his jazzy ties, colorful dress shirts and suits, a stranger might think that Bill Stroud

UW-Milwaukee and UW-Madison are two of the top college picks for Wauwatosa East graduates. Both are affordable, close to home and reputable schools.
In previous years, many graduates have also attended University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. This year, however, fewer than 10 students plan to go to Twin Cities.
Madison will cost just under $16,000 for the 2006-2007 school year, while Milwaukee will cost about $15,700. Although Madison has the higher total cost, tuition is more expensive at Milwaukee.

Recently, the Educational Foundation of Wauwatosa (EFW) awarded 26 grants totaling more than $35,000 to 14 schools for the 2006-07 school year.
Among the recipients were science teachers David Nelson and Terry Teske who received a $1,700 grant for their program “Science Takes Root.”

Since 1999, Spanish teacher Judy Urban has been adding art to the Spanish 5 curriculum.
The textbook used in Spanish 5 has only one chapter about art. Urban decided to make learning about Spanish art a year long exploration when the language department received a grant from the Education Foundation of Wauwatosa in 1999.
Urban has bought movies, posters and books about Spanish artists to teach her students about Spanish and Mexican culture through art.

In the fall many clubs will be seeing a change in leadership. Not only in officer positions but also in advisers.
American Field Services [AFS], Amnesty International, Mu Alpha Theta, Red Arrow and the senior class will all be changing advisers due to family obligations, resignations and new interests.
Katie Chicquette-Adams, the co-adviser of AFS, will be stepping down after this year. She is taking a break because she is expecting a baby in fall and will, therefore, not be at school for the majority of next year.
