Chinese schools under attack

A two-month long string of assaults on school children in China continued on May 12, 2010.

At 8 a.m. in the northwest Shaanxi province, a knife-wielding 48-year-old man who reportedly owned the school building entered by force and hacked seven kindergarten students and their teacher to death on the spot.

The teacher’s mother, also a victim of attack, died later in a hospital. More than ten other children were wounded. All were rushed quickly to the hospital and no further news of their conditions has been released.
