Juniors participate in issue investigation and issue fair

The end of the school year for juniors means the Issue Investigation, which is a project required by the district. The investigation includes a paper and poster detailing background information on a current issue, potential solutions, the optimal solution and possibilities for its implementation.

East receives three EFW grants for next year

The Education Foundation of Wauwatosa (EFW) contributes to the Wauwatosa School District throughout the year, but one of the major ways they do so is through grants awarded at the end of each school year.

The EFW awards yearly grants to teachers with worthy causes but a lack of funds.

To receive a grant, a teacher must present a creative and innovative program focused on educating students in new and exciting ways.

Bat girl brings softball luck

For the first time in several years the Wauwatosa East High School girls softball team has played strong enough to win some of their games.

The girls attribute that to their new bat girl, senior Ana Dray.

“When she cheers she really motivates us to do well. […] We call her our good luck charm,” junior Sarah Nilsen said.

Besides cheering the team on, Dray’s main job is to “pick up the bats from home plate after they hit and run,” she said.
