Student finds Wisconsin friendly

I am not a native of Wisconsin, let alone the United States. It was not until 1999 that I became a resident of the United States and not until 2007 that I came to Milwaukee Because of this I feel I can compare and contrast this place but from a different perspective.

Gratitude important to student

Last summer a friend of mine visited the Dominican Republic and what he told me about the trip truly influenced my view on life.

Accompanied by a missionary group called “Go Ministries,” which included his grandparents and some people from his church, they worked to build things for the betterment of the community.

While the weather was warm and breezy, the mission group would build churches, basketball courts and whatever else was asked of them. While they worked, they noticed many impoverished children watching
