Raiders return to Breitlow

As the school year comes to a close and the summer weather returns, the baseball diamonds open up. The Wauwatosa East High School baseball season is underway and the team’s outlook on the season is optimistic and promising.

The team is coming off of a rocky season and looking to make improvements to finish with a solid record and a better standing in the conference.

Wolter fills void left by Swittel

Just two weeks after losing long-time Head Coach Tom Swittel to Greater Metro Conference foe Brookfield East High School, the Wauwatosa East High School football team has filled the vacant position with one of its own.

The Red Raiders hired offensive coordinator and former standout East athlete Jake Wolter as their new leader. Wolter has spent the last three years as offensive coordinator after serving as the team’s defensive coordinator and some time as the freshmen head coach.

The Hot Corner: The Raider Way

A wise man once said “all great things must come to an end.” While I have no idea who this wise man may have been, or whether or not my precious sports column can be considered a great thing, this will indeed be the final chapter in The Hot Corner collection. With this in mind, I can only hope to conclude my tenure as sports editor of the Cardinal News and leave Wauwatosa East High School in the best of fashions.
